LOUIS REITH

With an interest in printed matter, book design and craftsmanship artist Louis Reith (born 1983, Hengelo, the Netherlands) creates drawings, collages, paintings and installations. The found material is always chosen by personal interest into form, theme and balance, which are then translated into new compositions. These compositions are made intuitively and refined consciously, playing with the illusion of mechanical versus handmade.

Recent solo exhibitions of his work have been presented at Charlotte Fogh Gallery (2018) and Code Art Fair (2018), Loom Gallery, Milan (2017); Mini Galerie, Amsterdam (2017); Art Rotterdam with Mini Galerie (2016); Ninasagt in Düsseldorf (2015); Huis Haas in Antwerp and & Pens Press in Los Angeles (2014). Group exhibitions include Winter at Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco; a duo with Charlotte Juillard at Archik in Marseille, Micro Salon #7 at Galerie l’Inlassable in Paris and Art Rotterdam with Charlotte Fogh Gallery in Rotterdam.
