Displaced Elements

Charlotte Fogh Gallery is proud to presents the artist duo Hanne Nielsen and Birgit Johnsen’s solo exhibition Displaced Elements.

The artist duo has worked mainly with video that represent their primary artistic material. The concept of constructing a narrative and the meaning within, has also been a focalpoint of duo’s oeuvre. In the exhibition Displaced Elements, the artists focus is on displacement and the relation between fiction and space. In this space, shapes are dissolved through motion, light, shadow and transparency.

The video installation called Displaced Elements contains completely new material and is a catalyst for several other art pieces on display in the exhibition. Furniture-like constructions and objects emerge from the video screens in the exhibition and appear as sculptural elements and lamps. The objects shed light and shadow on the surroundings in an OP art-like movement and thereby creating new grids and patterns throughout the gallery.
