Eske Kaths second solo exhibition at the gallery, “Vanishing Point” shows a series of new paintings with simplified empty landscapes. It is 10 years since Eske Kath last exhibited in Aarhus, and since then the landscape and vanishing point has been central to Kath’s works. At the last show landscapes and houses where engulfed in an inferno of exploding volcanoes and sizzling earthquakes. Since then the landscape has quietly taken over. “Vanishing Point” points to the infinity of the horizon and ‘the missing man’. Where the landscape disappears into a point, or the point where man disappears from the landscape.
