Ragnar Persson (b. 1980) lives and works in Stockholm. He graduated from Konstfack, Stockholm College of Arts in 2007, and his art has been exhibited in Japan, USA and different parts of Europe. He is well represented in both art museums and art foundations in Sweden. Ragnar Persson has has solo shows at the Drawing Museum in Laholm, Sweden, Ystad Kunsthal and at the major Cultural Center in Stockholm, Sweden.

Persson works primarily with drawing. His sensitive portraits of young girls in dark forests, detailed animal depictions and logos from heavy metal album covers are as if taken from a teenager’s dairy.  A spontaneous naivety is combined with a sophisticated, artistic, technical ability, and randomly placed imperfections alternate with neat pencil strokes. The juxtaposition of idyllic nature and the tough, heavy metal pathos is distinctive in Persson’s work.
