KASPAR BONNÉN

 

Kaspar Bonnén (b. 1968) is a versatile artist who range widely. In addition to his artistic work with mostly paintings and installations, he is author and include published poetry collections. Bonnén in 1999 graduated from the Royal. Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and has since had major solo exhibitions at, among others ARoS exhibition Everything Changes in 2012, Brandts and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Likewise, he took in 2010 part of the decoration of Frederik. 8.’s palace at Amalienborg, where the artist decorated the royal couple’s dining room.

 

In his works Kaspar Bonnén confronts his childhood far from idyllic and harmonious family life, culminating in particular large expressive paintings that depict the childhoods home space. Through architectural shifts as well as the inclusion of personal objects from the home Kaspar Bonnén also uses installation in the interpretation of childhood memories.
